Steak Tacos with Black Pepper Sauce Marinade and Pickled Vegetables

Ingredients

  • FOR THE MARINATED STEAK
  • 500 gr flank steak

  • 60 ml black pepper sauce

  • 10 ml chili powder

  • 5 ml cumin powder

  • 5 ml salt

  • 5 ml ground pepper

  • 10 ml low sodium soy sauce

  • 10 ml lime juice

  • FOR THE PICKLING SYRUP
  • 240 ml vinegar (red wine, rice wine or your preference)

  • 120 ml sugar

  • 120 ml water

  • 10 ml coriander seeds

  • 1o ml fennel seeds

  • 10 ml black peppercorns

  • 10 ml mustard seeds

  • FOR THE PICKLED VEGETABLES
  • 100 gr Carrots 2mm thick slices

  • 6 Radish cut in wedges

  • 75 gr Red onions thinly sliced

Directions

  • For the steak:
  • Mix the chili powder and cumin

  • Mix the black pepper sauce, soy sauce, and lime juice

  • Season the teak with salt, pepper, and chili powder mixture

  • Put in a container and rub the black pepper marinade evenly on both sides let marinate at least 30 minutes

  • For the pickling syrup:
  • Toast the seeds in a dry pan until fragrant

  • Put the vinegar, water, and sugar in a pot, bring to a boil.

  • Add the seeds and pour over the vegetables

  • To cook the steak:
  • Preheat your bbq, lightly oil the steak and cook to your liking

To serve:

  • Julienne cucmbers
  • Thinly chiffonade lettuce
  • Hoisin sauce
  • Siracha mayo
  • Thinly slice green onions
  • Tacos
